2026 Syllabus - Composition
- Works will be adjudicated on originality and competence in handling form, harmony, melody and rhythm.
- Scores must be clear and legible with all bars numbered; photocopies are acceptable. Scores must be received in the Festival Office by March 10th, 2026 by email to office@kiwanismusictoronto.org. Entrants are advised to keep a copy.
- Decisions on winners are reached by the adjudicator reading the scores.
- Minimum Current RCM Grade 4 theory recommended for classes age 19 and over.
- Please note that compositions are NOT performed in this category, tho a candidate may be asked to perform at our final concert.
- Performance times MUST be included on the entry form.

Please provide:
A LEGIBLE score of competitor's own composition should be provided for the Adjudicator in the following composition classes.
This MUST BE PROVIDED to the Music Festival Office AT LEAST 72 HOURS BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
Total performance time limit of 15 minutes.
Adjudicator will work with the candidate during the class time.
Standard of excellence will be used as marking scheme for classes GSB
